The Mid-Term Reflection (MTR) webinar series brought together Member Associations, Collaborative Partners, youth leaders, and senior executives from across the Federation to take stock of IPPF’s progress towards Strategy 2028. Across six well-attended sessions, the webinars explored critical themes including data-informed decision-making, digital health innovation, the global rise of anti-rights movements, solidarity as a strategic imperative, financial autonomy, and the role of youth rebellion in shaping the future.
Each session blended evidence, real-world MA experiences, and strategic foresight to assess where the Federation is advancing, where it is falling short, and how it can adapt more rapidly to an increasingly volatile global environment.
A clear cross-cutting message emerged: IPPF must become more agile, more unified, more community-led, and more strategically aligned if it is to meet the moment
The reflections underscored a number of urgent priorities: embedding both quantitative and qualitative data approaches; investing meaningfully in digital health infrastructure; proactively countering anti-rights narratives; strengthening solidarity through structured collaboration and community-led funding; pivoting towards commercial enterprise for long-term sustainability; and reclaiming youth rebellion as a force for rights and justice.
Across all six webinars, participants called for enhanced coordination, more predictable resources, and stronger pathways for youth, communities, and under-resourced MAs to lead. While the tone was one of urgency, it was also one of collective resolve: the Federation has the knowledge, leadership, and global reach to safeguard its mission—provided it acts boldly, together, and with strategic clarity.
With 691 participants across six sessions, the series highlighted opportunities to advance IPPF’s strategic objectives while fostering collaboration and innovative thinking across the Federation. We invite you to read the report or watch the recordings.
This webinar presented key findings from IPPF’s 2024 Annual Performance
Report (APR), offering a visual data-driven analysis of the Federation’s progress,
challenges, and strategic direction. Participants will gain insights into trends,
performance against targets, and how IPPF is advancing sexual and reproductive
health and rights (SRHR) globally.
Member Associations (MAs) shared their “data-use
journeys”—real-world examples of how data informs decision-making and program
improvements in their local contexts. The session also explored key priorities and the
way forward to strengthen impact in a rapidly changing global landscape.
In the lead up to the General Assembly, this strategic session brought together Member Associations from North Macedonia and Thailand for a candid, no- holds barred discussion on digital health interventions (DHI) and abortion self-care, Asking general assembly delegates to consider—Where are we falling short?
Where are we breaking through? And how can we ‘deliver better, fail faster, and adapt quicker’ to safeguard rights and justice globally.
In the lead up to the General Assembly, this strategic session brought together the Member Association and Collaborative Partner from India and Hungary. As the anti-rights movement gains momentum globally, supported by well-funded mis/disinformation campaigns and neofascist actors, IPPF member associations (MAs) and collaborative partners (CPs) face increasing pressure to refine their strategies and reclaim public discourse on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
This session discussed the successes, challenges, and adaptive approaches in advancing SRHR amid growing opposition from anti-rights mobilisation and how MAs have been working to counter regressive narratives, mobilize communities to build political momentum and leverage storytelling to inspire action.
