Youth Applications Now Open: IPPF’s Board of Trustees

At a time when sexual and reproductive rights face growing threats, principled, inclusive and courageous leadership has never been more vital

Young people are at the heart of IPPF’s work. In 2020 alone, IPPF delivered 98.2 million services to young people, reaching 29.6 million clients under 25, a record 45% of all healthcare provided. This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the largest generation of young people in history.

Why Youth Leadership Matters:
Our strength as a global movement lies in our people including those who lead and govern it. One-third of IPPF’s Board of Trustees are under 25, ensuring that youth voices shape our decisions and direction.

We are now inviting applications from young people (under 25) active within IPPF Member Associations to join the Board of Trustees. This is your opportunity to help shape the future of IPPF and to ensure that our governance continues to reflect the values, voices, and vision of the Federation we all belong to.

Meet our current Board of Trustees:

Who Can Apply:

  • Young people under 25 currently active within an IPPF Member Association
  • Applicants must not be in paid employment with their Member Association
  • Applications are especially encouraged from Central Asia, West Africa, and Southern Africa
  • Submissions are welcome in Arabic, English, French, or Spanish
  • You do not need to be nominated by your Member Association. Individual applications are welcome

About the Role:
The Board of Trustees oversees IPPF’s governance, finances and safeguarding systems, ensuring our Federation operates with integrity, transparency and impact.

This is a voluntary, non-executive position for individuals passionate about IPPF’s mission. Trustees dedicate around 15–20 days per year, which may include international travel. All necessary expenses are covered, and support is available to ensure participation is accessible and inclusive.

Whether you have served in MA governance or simply want to bring your passion, commitment, and lived experience to global leadership, we want to hear from you!
